I was NOT on that page.  Really.  Didn’t want to do it.  I feel like my thoughts should be able to be my thoughts regardless of the evils lurking out there to challenge me.  I feel like I shouldn’t have to go underground on the things I write about, because the things I write about are true.

I’m not slandering anyone, or publishing falsehoods, or wrongly accusing.  I’m certainly not stooping to the new lows to which The Egg Donor (ED) has stooped.  But…

I have reached a point where I feel like it’s prudent.  I don’t think she knows about this site.  I’ve been careful to give everyone an alias.  I’ve tried to keep identifying information out of the equation.  Even if I hadn’t done those things, I’m pretty sure she doesn’t even know what a blog is, and certainly can’t be torn away from her endless trips to the shopping mall to sit in front of a computer for any length of time.  So I’m not worried about it.

But I do believe that it’s time to exercise a little more care with my posts, and the content contained therein.  So I’m password protecting the posts I feel deserve a little more discretion when it comes to readership.

For those of you who have faithfully read my words fuh-evah, e-mail me at stephaniesplace at gmail dot com (or just leave a comment) and I’ll happily send you the password you can use to unlock those protected posts.  We’ll just pretend like they were never protected in the first place.

Know that this, under no circumstances, means that I’m planning to stop blogging.  I’m not.  I don’t plan to censor myself, or my thoughts, or stop sharing my story with others out there dealing with similar situations.  I’m not going anywhere.

Just keeping it a little more on the down low…  that’s all.

Good Thursday – I was following an internet trail of hope, err websites about steps and blended families etc. and I was led to yours only to find that the crumbs I so desperately need are (and I totally here you) password protected so here I am knocking at your haven, err door asking if I can come in and play! 🙂

Stepmom – crazy custody suit, move away suit, you name it declarations in court and I am losing my mind. Feel like a prisoner in my own home.

I’ve been reading for about a year (and have read your archives). While I hate that you have to go through so much obviously ridiculous crap, I love that you DO go through it – that you and your Hubby fight for your kids. I wish I had had a parent willing to fight for me like that! I would like to be able to continue reading your posts, if you don’t mind – you give me hope.

I have been reading for only a little while, having found you by way of another site. Sad to say, I have the same experiences as you, thanks to my husband’s ex-wife. The biggest waste of space known to man. The kids live with us and saw there mother via the normal custody arrangements. Until about 2-3 months ago when they each (girl 14, boy 18) came to their own conclusion – their mother is flat-out crazy and they are humoring her most of the time. You deal with your situation with much more humor and grace than I manage most days and are really an inspiration. I need all the help I can get and would like to continue reading your perspective. Thanks. And God Bless!

I’ve always wondered if you ever worried ED would find your website, possibly use your words against you in court. And I totally understand that because I have a blog that I loved having public. I started it over three years ago before I knew there were all these other step-moms out there doing the same thing – writing about their trials and tribulations, joys and fears of being a stepmom. Unfortunately, the BM in our lives found our website and all heck broke lose. So now my public blog is very private, only a few of our family and friends log-on to read it, which makes me sad.

I think you’ve come-up with a good idea, just sorry you have to do it because then people like me that just stumbled onto your site won’t gain the knowledge, comfort, insight that they are not alone on this journey called stepparenting. It is amazing how pervasive the ex’s reach truly is, isn’t it!?!?

If you feel comfortable, I would really like to continue to read about your journey…all of it! 🙂

    Much Love,

OMG- Is all I have to say……

I’m completely at a loss for words….My husband’s ex just found my site and THE SHITE has hit the fan.

So this morning I am catching up on everybody’s blogs (all of our step-mama sisters out there) And it is like some invasion from hell! Everyone is going private. The Ex’s have come out of the wood work at the same time. It is heart-renching…

We need to have a committee of step-moms that can give out the a password once a month to people who have been scanned and are deemed safe…Anyway I’m just brain storming-
So many passwords, so many obstacles to still go around…. We have to do it at home now we have to do it here.
